Pretty Plastic's latest innovation to feature on Wageningen University's new sustainable building
Pretty Plastic is proud to announce the upcoming large-scale application of our recently launched "Basic Third" tile from our product portfolio. This fall, our "Basic Third" facade tiles, made from 100% recycled PVC, will adorn the facade of the newly constructed Plus Ultra III research centre at Wageningen University & Research.
This cutting-edge building, covering approximately 7,600 m² of space for laboratories, pilot plants, and offices, is a milestone in sustainable architecture. The structure, predominantly built from wood (CLT), results in a CO2-negative construction, significantly contributing to stringent sustainability goals. The development of our tiles was made possible through a close collaboration with the architectural firm Proof of the Sum and Kadans Science Partner.

Circular Façade tile from Pretty Plastic included in the National Environmental Database
The Dutch National Environmental Database (NMD) lacks representation of circular building materials' environmental performance. Pretty Plastic's 100% recycled PVC tile's inclusion in the NMD marks a crucial step. It highlights the positive impact of these circular tiles on building projects. Designed and produced by Pretty Plastic, these tiles are already in use across various projects worldwide. As the first fully recycled facade cladding in the NMD, it holds a category 1 product card based on a comprehensive Life Cycle Analysis (LCA).
